ONLY GOD KNOWS "THE REST OF THE STORY"

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts and hear us today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story,"

Remember when love of God, family and country were what made us tick. What happened to us? How did we get our priorities so messed up in such a short time. We are headed for becoming a secular society if we don't stop and turn it around now. No one recognizes sin for what it is anymore. I am sure we will get past this financial crisis we are in but the spiritual breakdown needs more than a quick fix. It takes a revival in the hearts of our people. Let's pray for a revival together.

Amen Eve. I'm so glad to see so many Christians speaking up. I pray God will raise up His people to take a stand against evil and turn this nation back over to Him.

love hearing paul harvey & love this!!! i pray, also, that we touch one another ~ with Gods' wisdom to know it is not okay to do things ~ just because others are doing wrong & get away with it ~ that they see God in us & want what we have & we can show them the way. in His precious Holy Name we pray to come into our hearts ♥ hugs & blessings, vikki ♥

Eve, This was good to see. It should be on billboards. We need to get serious about this stuff before it's too late. How long will God let the abominations of our country go on? So many turned to God after 911. What is it going to take to wake us all out of slumber?!

You know what is even sadder? It is the fact that so many folks are so terribly apathetic. They talk a good talk, but no one will take the time to DO. I am guilty though my heart really burns with the desire to do something...anything...to wake up a nation that was once so great because we leaned on the Word. God help us all!

What truths; however, it finds us very wanting, doesn't it? We can do without material prosperity but not without spiritual prosperity. May God direct us back into the old paths.
