LIKE SANDS THROUGH AN HOUR GLASS

"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth.

Yesterday, we got the news that my nephew had died suddenly. We are still not sure what caused his death. It was so shocking because as far as we knew, he was healthy. He was only thirty five years old. He leaves behind him, three little girls and a wife. Please pray for His Dad John, his Mom Dianne and his brother John, as our family tries to deal with this tragedy. Hold your own loved ones closer because you just never know when the sand will run out for anyone. The hourglass ran out of sand for Danny, yesterday.

Danny accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. We comfort ourselves with this scripture:
1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Sleep well and sweet dreams, Danny.

ONLY GOD KNOWS "THE REST OF THE STORY"

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts and hear us today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story,"

Remember when love of God, family and country were what made us tick. What happened to us? How did we get our priorities so messed up in such a short time. We are headed for becoming a secular society if we don't stop and turn it around now. No one recognizes sin for what it is anymore. I am sure we will get past this financial crisis we are in but the spiritual breakdown needs more than a quick fix. It takes a revival in the hearts of our people. Let's pray for a revival together.

JESUS IS AN OLD FRIEND

By Eaton Chris
Old Friends

There's a ring around the moon tonight
And chilling wind
But I don't have to be afraid
Cause we're old friends

There's a heartbeat of our Mother Earth
And it's so deep within
Oh, and I'm never short of company
Cause we're old friends

So let it snow 'til it's ten feet deep
Let the mist roll in
'Til I am too blind to see
Let the waters rise
Encircling me
Old Friends -- we'll always be
And Heaven is a perfect place
At the journey's end
Oh and I'm looking forward to that day
Cause we're old friends

PRAYING FOR THOSE WHO ARE LOST

I am a prayer warrior on a prayer chain and I am amazed right now, how many of the requests for prayer all get down to the same three. They need healing for themselves or for someone they know or love. They need financial help. It seems everyone is having a hard time right now, making ends meet. They want a relationship restored. There are not as many request for salvation for their friends and family as I would expect.

I ask, Dear Lord that you lay it on people's hearts to care about the salvation of their family and friends. I know our daily trials are getting us down right now, but I pray we don't lose sight of the most important prayer of all. The prayer for the lost. I pray for all the families who read my post Father, that their loved ones will find their way home before it's too late. Save them Lord, bring them into the fold. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

WORDS BY GLORIA GAITHER

I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven;
Ill walk with joy to know my debts are paid.
I know my name is clear before my Father;
I am His child, and I am not afraid.
So greatly pardoned, Ill forgive another;
The law of love I gladly will obey.

I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion;
I’ve been so loved that Ill risk loving, too.
I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges;
I dare to see another’s point of view.
And when relationships demand commitment,
Then Ill be there to care and follow through.

Your kingdom come around and through and in me,
Your power and glory, let them shine thru me.
Your Hallowed Name O may I bear with honor,
And may Your living Kingdom come in me.
The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor,
And may You feed a hungry world thru me.

Gloria Gaither

SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN

Billy is great at starting things but he doesn't always finish them. If you are reading this, love you anyway, Dear. Sometimes he has to quit due to lack of funds. Other times he just abandons them simply because he decided it was too tough or taking too long. We all do this, not just Billy. I do, but I don't attempt things on a grand scale the way he does. He tries to build mountains, I build molehills.

There is no question that life gets hard sometimes. There are days when we may have to push ourselves just to make it though. It is easy to just give up on things. But it is those determined people who pick themselves up and keep on going that accomplish great things. “Remember when you see a man at the top of a mountain, he didn't fall there.” I love this quote. We may give up on projects we start in this life but Heaven is a more worthy goal. We must keep on fighting the good fight and seeking the top of that mountain.
